For the purposes of the Data Protection Laws, Seraph Science is the “data controller”, which means we determine the purposes for which, and the manner in which, your data is processed. The Data Protection Laws refer to any applicable law relating to the processing of personal Data, including but not limited to the Directive 96/46/EC (Data Protection Directive) or the GDPR (the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679), and any national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation for as long as the GDPR is effective in the UK.

Why do we process your data
We may process your data for a number of different purposes including:
To keep you up to date with the latest, relevant content we have published.
To keep you up to date with and invite you to our latest, relevant events or digital content.
To manage any event booking you have with us.
To manage any membership you have with us or one of our communities.
To collect your feedback and seek your insight through online survey invitations.
Our lawful basis for processing your data
Where we collect and use data for the legitimate interests mentioned above, we will only do so when we consider that your interests or rights requiring protection of your personal information do not override our legitimate interests. We process customer and client data to keep our customers, members and contacts informed of our latest content, products and services and to manage membership(s). In some circumstances, if you do not provide the personal information that is required, we will not be able to provide you with products and services.

Types of data
When you register on our website or one of our executive communities, we will capture and hold the type of standard, non-sensitive information you would expect us to request, such as:
Your job title
Your email address
Your phone number
Your postal address
Your dietary requirements (for events)
We may at times ask you for input into research and future publications or events. Any research that is published based upon the information you give us will be published anonymously unless you give us your consent to publish your name and contribution, for instance as part of a video interview. We may also ask to record calls or conversations for training, quality and research purposes. All recordings will be treated as confidential. If you do not want us to record a call or conversation, you may ask us to turn off the recording at the start of the call or conversation.
Third party data
We may receive data about organisations, website visitors, marketing campaigns and other matters related to our business from our partners, affiliates or others, that we use to make our own information better or more useful. This data may be combined with other information we collect, such as which IP addresses, to help us determine how our products, services and campaigns are performing.
Recipients of the data
In some cases, we will share the data we collect from you with trusted third parties. When you register to join one of our communities, attend an event or download digital content, we will always tell you the name of the partner (company) with which we will be sharing the data we collected from you. We always let you know this before we collect your data, so you can make an informed decision.
Data processing partners
You may request access to the personal data we hold on you, and we will provide that information free of charge within one month of your request at the latest. You can request inaccurate or incomplete personal data be rectified or completed or for your personal data to be suppressed or erased.
You have the right to opt out of our marketing at any time. You can unsubscribe from our emails automatically by using the unsubscribe link in a recent email communication. Alternatively, you can opt out by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
We regularly audit our system for possible vulnerabilities and attacks in order to protect data stored on our servers. However, transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure and therefore transmission via the internet is at your own risk.
